So the offseason is going to be crazy but theres also going to be a bit of down time between events.
From the moment our season ends and someone is crowned champion, the league will basically be frozen until the real life world series concludes. When the real life world series ends, i will be releaseing 2 lists. 1. Franchise tag eligible players for each team. 2. FAB players that need a decision on whether or not to be kept.
There may be a few dates and times in the rules but those are subject to change as this thread will be the template for our offseason.
You will have until jan 1st of 2018 to announce who you keep, tag, or release from these lists. Any FAB player kept will be kept at their real life salary and any 1 player you decide to tag gets tagged at their new contract price with the 1st year being worth 1.5× the actual. Salaries can be foubd at the top of the PB page under the MLB Contracts tab.
The following dates could change but this is the current plan...
Jan 1st- deadline for FAB Keeps, Tags.
Jan 10th- Minors draft
Feb 25thish(this date could change, itll be the day following arb cases concluding)- FA draft
48 hours past the finish up of the FA draft, FAB opens and the season is under way.

Not crazy about the idea of having to claim whether to keep a fab guy so early , then find out after his salary is established I didn't want him , in the other salary league I am in and this is a better situation, we can elect to keep or drop a guy after his salary is announced, or contract signed , just sumthin to consider as it could dramatically change the decision making process

So there will be 2 lists.
1. list of FAB guys who already have contracts, youd decide whether to keep them at their real contract or let them go.
2. Guys who have expiring contracts that you can franchis or let go.
Thats basically what you said.. Right?

Also... The deadline for players to re-sign giving you the ability to keep them without having to use a tag is the final game of the real life world series.
Example- Jake Arrieta has an expiring contract. If he was to sign a 6 year deal during game 6 of the world series, i would have the ability to keep him for that contract and not have to waste the franchise tag on him.

You wont see a ton updated on the sheets pages til jan 1st. Youll see me making little adjustments but its all preperation for the jan 1st deadline. Ill be updating everything on sheets to reflect next years rosters between the 1st and the 10th (minors draft). Just wanted to let everyone know that. Also, remember that if you drop someone while in the offseason (anytime prior to the FA draft), there are tiered penalties for drops in the offseason and they are based on previous season salaries.

At this point, the for sure date to know is
Thursday, January 10th- Noon CST- The Minors draft kicks off. Every pick will have a 24 hour time limit. Picks can be made up any time. So if it runs past your pick and goes to the next person, you can post your makeup pick at any point.
The date for the FA draft is still not set. It will have to be around or after arbitration money is decided. We will discuss this in the next few weeks following the minors draft.
