Im sure everyone has somewhat kept up with the posting of shohei ohtani.
The format for how he can be acquired goes like this...
He has been posted which is a start, so now he can be eligible for the minors draft as long as he signs prior to its beginning. If he does not sign by noon on the start date of the minors draft, he is ineligible. Which will then make the fa draft his next possible eligibility spot. If he signs by noon of the FA Draft, he will be eligible. If he is STILL SOMEHOW unsigned by the start of the FA Draft, he will be deemed ineligible until signed by a team. When signed, he will be FA eligible and the largest bigging war we have ever seen will begin.

Signed with the Angels...eligible for the minors draft! Looks like he will only be able to provide pitching stats for fantasy purposes from what I am reading. Got mad skills in that regard tho!

Lmao you mean he wont be able to be used on the offensive side? I assumed they'd make him SP/DH or something like t hat

Haha nope. From what I have read, it is currently too complicating for fantasy sports scoring systems. Maybe they will figure something out!

also saw something where fantasy sites are not gonna give Offense and Pitching position eligibility. Because then all National league Pitchers will Have to be eligible also on the offensive side ...

So considering pitchers that pitchers dont get hitting stats... It wouldnt be fair that he did.. Is that a correct analysis of his situation? Or if espn was to allow him to have 2 players with his name but 1 be SP and 1 be DH, his owner could only start 1 of him daily? I would like thoughts on this.

Yea ok i read all that in the last 2 days. I hadnt read anywhere, anyone saying he needed TJ but it makes sense. He may not get TJ though. Its like Tanaka, Tanaka has had an elbow issue for 2+ years and has kept pitching. I did see this morning that he has a "small free-body" in his elbow. The whole situation is terrifying to me as the owner of a team investing in him.

It appears that yahoo is going to have hitter Ohtani and pitcher Ohtani. If ESPN follows suit, will that mean the minors draft will have 2 Ohtani’s (1 hitter and 1 pitcher) eligible to draft.
