I would like to look into expanding the league from 12 to 16 team. The expansion would be a 2 year process. Next offseason id like to expand to 14 (7 in each division) and 16 the following offseason (4 divisions of 4).
Id like to hear people thoughts.
It will take more extensive interviews with potential new owners as i will have to make sure the owners understand that they are moving into a situation where they must build from the ground up.

One of the problems with expanding is with all the trades in this league involving future draft picks it would really water down the value of the picks that were traded for adding more teams into the draft as well as typically in an expansion current teams select a player or two to give up for the expansion teams ..... so if A team has gotta give up a player or two mlb and or minor as well as lose draft spots that not only depletes what was done to build a team but also changes the value of what u thought u were trading for in trades involving picks
I would be interested to hear ur idea on how u would do this expansion addressing the issues I stated above
I am not opposed to expansion necessarily , just don’t wanna have to lose the value of what I have spent what will be 3 years to build

I am opposed to this We have 12 committed owners now, we all remember the yankee bluejay shuffle. I think trying to expand will bring problems.

Teams eith high minors and fa picks over the next 2 years would suffer a small amount. The way i would do it is every team would be able to restrict somewhere between 20-22 players (leaving 3-5 available) but thats only if you have a full roster. If you only have 15 players in the offseason it wouldnt effect your team. But any team that has a number of players in that range that would have to make players available wouldnt necessarily lose anyone.
Example: colorado has a full roster right now. Lets say he could only restrict 22. Leaving 3 guys available. I would have those 3 guys basically throw into the fa draft BUT only the new teams could select them via the fa draft. If his players made it through the fa draft he would be allowed to keep them. Something to that effect.
I wouldny have a mini draft from teams by any means. It would be a hardcore build from the ground up sort of thing. But the comment that got me here is the one about new york and Toronto, the coaching carousel they had go on. Seems most aren't in favor of this so it wont go to a vote. Just thought itd be a cool idea.
