I just now decided to take a look at shohei ohtanis availability... And sure enough, Hes (SP/DH) BUT! they have him listed under batter and pitcher. So now we have the tough task of figuring out how we will handle this situation. Any suggestions?
If we have detroit pick up ohtani as hitter and pitcher, we will have to increase the roster limit and the other 11 will just always run 1 roster spot light.
Should he be allowed to start ohtani thr pitcher and hitter daily? To avoid ever missing the potential use of him?

It shows him twice on the free agency page cause he is either pitcher or hitter but he is still only one player. When you do a draft you draft him once. He can’t be drafted twice.

You have to decide the day if you want to use him as pitcher or hitter. He can only be started at one each day

If we add another roster spot wont we than have to increase the salary cap? I think we need to make a decision quickly as this makes some decisions on our roster tougher with adding another spot

There shouldn’t be an extra spot. He’s one player. That’s what I’m saying.

I might be the only one but I thought we were considering him one player or I probably would’ve drafted whoever rays didn’t take in the minors draft. He was listed on there as Ohtani (sp/dh)

Tampa Bay is right. He is considered one player (SP/DH) on ESPN. One man with eligibility for both. He can only be utilized for one role on a given day. I think I understand Taylor's dilemma in that our current rules state that we are allowed 10 minimum and 15 maximum hitters or pitchers (25 total players).
We could stick with the rules, but Tampa would then only be able to roster 24 players, as Ohtani is both batter and pitcher. The alternative would be to run Ohtani only as a pitcher, so that Tampa could roster 25.

Also this season he would be on my minors bench. Not my 25 man roster

Last year when benitendi surpassed his innings he stayed on the minors bench all season. It was like that with every player. Not sure why we would change that rule now

OK, so Brad can still roster Ohtani as normal with SP/DH eligibility on a 25 player roster. The only catch is that, with Ohtani, he just has to be careful not to exceed 15 batters or pitchers including the young phenom.

Not my 25 man roster Only for 50 innings pitched The way this rule works, because theres no way i can monitor it daily and will in no way expect someone else to do so either, entering the season, if the player is under the limit, for thr entire season he will be considered "minors" and then the following season, if the player crossed the limit, he will then have to be brought to the roster or released. Make sense?

So even though when i search him in free agency, and 1 player for Hitting and 1 player for pitching shows up... Hes 1 player?? Meaning, when rostered as the hitter.. He can be put in at SP? Is this right? Or did i misunderstand

On a Monday you can start him as a SP, and on a Tuesday you can move him to utility (DH).
