We've made some changes to some rules and i have done a poor job of updating them. I apologize for that. I love this league and receive alot of praise frome members in this league for how far we've come and i cannot express my appreciation enough. As you all know (well, few of you at this point simply because we've replaced over half the owners since the beginning, beside the point though) this league, since year 1 has been a democracy. All changes are made as a group, as a whole. And it will always be that way as i want everyone to enjoy their time here. Some rules have been broken, and i feel like ive done a decent job of addressing them and ultimately righting the situations in the best possible to keep everyone happy. But there is one rule that should have been addressed in the offseason hut wasnt and i want to take care of it now, as its a rule that i dont feel, if a change is made, will impact anything as far as teams, players, or competitiveness right now.
Please ignore the dact that i havent updated the trade review committee stuff LMAO.

Trading rules A. And B. Via the rules you are only allowed to send money in 3 ways.
1. To pay for 100% of a players contract this year.
2. To pay for 50% of a players contract the following year (this is the most broken one but i always felt like it should be changed and simply never got around to it)
3. Send cash for players, prospects, picks BUT only this season.
I feel like we have a group ofnguys here that know what they're doing and are fully prepared to do what they need with their team, whether it be compete now, rebuild, etc. And i feel like thesebrules should change. I understand fully why they were initially implemented, and for anyone who doesnt know the answer to why these were implemented, its simple, its so a team doesnt ship all their money out in the next 3 years and ends up stuck with a salary cap of 110 for 3 straight years (or 1 year, 2 years, etc.) and struggles to fill a roster due to this. As i said prior, i think we have built a league with enough knowledge and intelligence that we can change these rules to not restrict that money over a 2 year span.
We have another rule in their that allows an owner to do as a players contract states and defer the salary, a few teams (including myself) have chosen to do this. This could create exactly the problem that was trying to be avoided with those trade rules.
Please give me input, criticism, thoughts, counter proposals. Regardless of what is decided here, rules are made for a reason and we will have to start abiding by them as a whole. I know ive been pretty anal at times about the trade formats, but i just know, its not hard to do it the same every time, and theres even a template to make everyones life easy. You can literally copy it, paste it, then step by step fill in the stuff to make it your trade. Anyways, heres my proposal:
You can trade cash in any form. Any amount, but only within the next 3 years (still a slight restriction, but i honestly dont recall a single trade in this league since we changed to salaries that involved a team sending money 3 years out). Players, prospects, picks dont have to be included. To dumb it down, you can go as far as paying for a player, prospect, or pick. I definitely remember a few trades where a pick or prospect was simply payed for. I also remember at least a handful where a team payed for a players salary that season and the following, which would have violated the rules but quite franklu, no one cared or said anything.
Example
KC trades:
$35 Million
Tampa Bay trades:
Jose Altuve
This would be a very rare occurance i would think but, as stated, simply an example.
Let me know guys.
