Toronto Blue Jays gets:
DJ LeMahieu (COL-2B) $4.8 mil
Boston Red Sox gets:
Kenley Jansen (LAD-RP) $16 mil
Accept.Ive had a change of heart and game plan.Ive decided to dump salary which includes dropping some higher paid veterans,as well as trading some for cheaper options.I dont feel IMO it justifies paying a closer(no matter who he is)$16 mil for one category.LeMahieu is a cheap(for this season anyways)2B so it gives me a solid 1-2 punch with Schoop.

Accept. Getting a top tier closer is always a plus. I hate seeing lemahieu go, especially because of his contract vs. production. This gives me the RP I have been looking for since I took over the team,

To be honest, while i did approve pretty fast, i for some reason thought jansen had scored around 430, not 330. While im with the lopsided trade thought regardless of production (i just havent found value in RPs), this isnt the first pretty serious deal involving a RP. So with Bostons reassurance to us all that this is a deal he is confident with, i will be leaving my approval up.
With this trade as well, i URGE ALL OWNERS to take a look at the ESPN page and look around at the points scored and look at Frees. I dont know for sure that everyone is aware of what is sitting around in free agency.
Thanks for putting that out there, Ken.

I approve I understand the lopsided argument here but at the same time i disagree. Some owners find valueing rp not high but that is there personal opinion. However it is not mine and this is two names, contracts different but i know soxs values rp and i think its vital regardless of what some owners think and lets face facts with going to this format of real salaries its hard to find a big name, really good, everyday closer who ain't getting paid lots of money. So in saying that i approve

I am ok with the deal. I understand the argument, but I have Daniel Murphy to play second and Chris Davis at util so I have no need to hang on to lamehieu. Even though Murphy currently occupies my 3b hole I don't think he will qualify there once the season starts. He only started 1 game at third last season, so I am betting that I will have a logjam at 2nd. It makes it difficult this early because you have to project what position eligibility ESPN is assign players. I could very possibly be wrong, but I am making a guess here. I do appreciate Arizona evaluating to protect the integrity of the league.

Approve. While there is a gap in production Jansen is a top closer so as far as relative value goes I feel it's a decent deal

i accept the points might be off. but i get the trade. if you just look at RPs tho Jansen os one of the best. so instead of a 2b being on his bench he can start Jansen everyday and atleast get some production vs. having too much depth on the bench.
