Salaries:
1. Each player's salary will be what he makes in real life.
2. Players you tag as franchise players will make 1.5× their NEW real life salary the 1st season, on here. Franchise Tags are only in effect during the season it is utilized. You can Franchise a new player every year if you have the Cap Space.
3. The salary cap is 220 million (2024 season). The salary cap increases 10 million every season unless notified otherwise.
4. Players on the IL count against your salary cap.
5. The league minimum on salary is 600K or .6 Mil. Will increase to $0.7 in 2025.
6. During the offseason only, you are allowed to be over the salary cap. You will have until the beginning of the Free Agent Draft to get under cap.
7. You may trade part of a player's salary as part of a trade (up to 100% of the current year and 100% of the following year.).
8. Trade deferrals are not allowed. Money will be paid according to the contract with no deferrals.
9. If a player is signed by an international team, that player may be dropped as a free drop.
10. In the event of a retirement mid contract or a catastrophe (ex. Jose Fernandez, R.I.P.), you will be allowed to free drop that player.
11. If a player re-signs before THE REAL LIFE WORLD SERIES CONCLUDES then you retain him for his new contract.
Prospect Salaries
Prospects that get put in your Minors Bench spot(s), cost you $.6 Million. If sent back down, the salary is removed.
Options:
The way options for players will work in this league is a little complex. If a player opts out of a contract, or a team opts out of the contract, or its a mutual option and they agree to part ways, then that player becomes a Free Agent. The catch, if he resigns with the same team (ex. Yoenis Cespedes 2016), then you as the owner of your fantasy team have the Option of either allowing the player go to free agency, or keeping him. If he signs with a new team, you would still have the possibility of retaining that player by way of the Franchise Tag.
This is different than a player with a contract running out and becoming a Free Agent and simply resigning with the same team. In that case, the only option you would have is to Franchise that player.
--If any player re-signs a deal before the Real-Life World Series concludes, you have the right to retain that player for the new contract whether it's an expiring contract or an option.
