So just wanted to shed light on a specific player and make sure everyones on the same page.
Theres a player named Merrill Kelly (ARI-SP) Who is projected to crack Arizonas rotation. He was in the minors a few years back and had a decent stint and recently signed a 2 year deal with a 3rd year option with the Dbacks. Yet he has 0 service time. Typically a player like this would be eligible for a prospect roster spot allowing him to be on the minors roster. But hes not. Just wanted to explain why. Despite having 0 service time, Kelly was signed to a Major League contract. There is even a clause in his contract that says that he cant be sent to the minors without his consent. So a player like this wouldnt be eligible for the minors draft, but would be eligible for the FA draft or FA.
This is open for discussion if anyone has comments or thoughts.

Yusei Kikuchi would fit into this category as well.

We can leave it up to a vote. But kikuchi is coming over as vet ready for the majors. When Ohtani came over, he wasnt offered a big league contract, he was treated like a prospect and is making the minimum. Big difference.

Even if we decided he was eligible for the minors draft, it should've been contested before the draft started. He would've been picked way before now. Twins posted this 2 weeks before the draft started and nobody contested. He should be ineligible for the minors draft like Twins declared on January 2nd.

The league had 2 weeks to Contest this. No one did and the original post even got likes. Being nearly 2 full rounds through the draft and changing this, would mean we would have to wipe the entire draft and start over. And thats not happening either.
