Ok guys. As this league has already undergone alot of changes, there are still things that can be done to make it better. This will be the first thread to discuss rule changes in the future. If you have an idea for a change, let it be known. This thread will last all year and if a change is talked about enough,it will reach a votng stage at the end of the year to potentially be changed for next year.

I will throw out the 1st change i would like to see, scoring change. When this league was started 3 years ago, H2H points was a cool idea. Now that the league has progressed to where it is, i see some faults.
I would like to see the league become H2H Categories. I think it would bring more realism to the standings, more value to the middle tier players and bring a little more value to prospects. I understand that people have built teams for points, but with the amount of time i believe we all plan on being in this league, it would be a small change that we could all easily overcome and in the long run, would help to improve the overall health of the league.

Always have been a fan of Cat leagues. I think that would be a good idea

i have no problem switching to cats ...
two other things!!
1) i would like to discuss being able to sign a free agent to multi year deals , i am in another league where we are allowed to offer up to 3 years + an option on free agents we bid on .... this allows us to better plan for the future in a DYNASTY league
2) i would like to entertain the idea of being able to keep more than 1 f/a per year.... i really believe limiting the options a team has to sign or keep or trade players goes against everything a DYNASTY league is meant to be .... i mean really , what kind of DYNASTY league would put a team in a position to have to let multiple players go to free agency when they can afford them , this can be terribly frustrating when trying to trade or acquire a player by trade as well

Your rule 1 proposal can definitely be discussed.
But rule 2 i think may still be misunderstood. When the season ends, you have the ability to keep any and all FAB players on your roster to their real life contract as long as you hve the money. The only rule that allows you to only keep 1 player is the franchise rule, and that goes for players who have expiring contracts. Let me know if im misunderstanding the 2nd proposal.

I would like to see the addition of a second utility spot to bring more bats into our game. Pitching seems to be scoring more points for most teams most weeks. The free agent pool for pitchers is dang near wiped clean, but there are a ton of great bats still out there! Every other league I have been in for 15 years had 2 utility slots, and I really like it.
I would also like to propose that we change the outfield spots from LF/RF/CF to three generalized OF spots to increase teams roster flexibility.
The category scoring is fine by me. It emphasizes team balance over slugger/strikeout studs. As the week progresses in cat scoring, it's a little less exciting seeing a score vary slightly (i.e. 7-3 on Tuesday, Oh shit! 6-4 on Sunday, they're catching up!) vs watching each teams points skyrocket throughout the week. I do enjoy the way cat scoring makes a teams record look, and in my experience it seems to be a more accurate/telling way of determining winners.

Yeah , that's what I mean , just cuz their contract expires should not prohibit me from keeping them wherever and whenever they do sign a deal , theoretically a team could end up losing 5-8 guy's in a year with this rule now , and like I said who wants to take on a guy in a trade they won't be able to keep , or who can trade away a guy like that

Im down for whatever rule changes you guys want to make but the good teams are still going to be good bc we know how to adapt. I really like the league as is, I think with the free agency picks and franchise tag your going to see a big difference but that is my opinion

Switching to cats isnt to hurt anyones team its just a more competitive scoring system. Doesnt make pitchers as overpowered in my oppinion as it is in points leagues. And the records will resemble more of an actual baseball season. (Good teams getting around 90-100+ wins.)

I like the switch to categories. I also like Yankees idea about making hitters more valuable by adding more spots for hitters.

How about a reserve spot or 2. Where we can throw supsended players and also players out for season due to injury , helps teams out with players such as Marte, and A.Reyes. doesn't waste a DL spot, with the new 10 day DL rule. They are players you really cant't drop. And helps teams become more competive instead of losing a roster spot

Another proposal id like to make is the extend the minors spots from 2 to 3 or 4. I feel like having 12 teams and the amount of prospects we all could have in the next 3 years that have the ability to fill these will warrant at least 1 more prospect slot.

Reasoning, we already have 5 DL spots and imo, thats already bordering on overkill. Also, while I understand we all as fantasy owners have 0 control over what our players do in their personal lives, I cant agree with giving teams free spots for players that cheated and were suspended.

I also think maybe adding a couple more or a few more pitching spots. Not just a starting 5.

This isnt a proposal, more of an option id like to offer teams.... I want to give teams the option of changing what team they are. Any AL or NL team can change who they are in the offseason as long as they are a team in their actual league in real life.

I think we will be able to do away with the Cannot ADD list if we switch over to CATS. Thats up for discussion but definitely a thought.

I would like to be able to trade franchise tags, I feel like this could solve the issue with some teams needing another while also benifitting those who won't be using this option.

Would like to talk about a rules Change ......
In our league currently in order to bid on a player u are required to drop a player to clear a roster spot just to even bid , the problem here is if u release a player just to bid on a player then don’t get the bid for the new player u now have a vacant spot . In other leagues I am in u can bid on any player at any time and upon winning the bid u have 24 hours to make a corresponding move to accommodate the new player addition . That way u are not penalized for not winning a bid by also losing a player u only dropped to acquire the player u didn’t win , if after the 24 hours passes and a move wasn’t made to accommodate the add , the next highest bidder will get the player , if no other teams bid on the player and u don’t make the move in the 24 hour window u pay a penalty , for example 10 percent of the winning bid on top of the contract, this also would help in the f/a draft , for example myself right now I have no open roster spots , what good are f/a picks to me until I drop enough guys to accommodate the picks , then after dropping a couple guys to make room the guy or guys I was gonna draft only to have them selected ahead of me now once again I cut guys to make room for guys I can’t get , in the free agent draft I could post I select player A , please drop player B to accommodate
Just an idea ?

As far as far as the FA draft.. I believe thats already how it is. If you have a full roster and its your pick, you can drop someone and use the pick..
As far as the 1st part, im indifferent. Either way is fine with me. Lets see if theres anymore input and then it can go to a vote at some point this offseason.
