Just wanna make sure everyone is clear on a few things before the season... better to ask questions for clarification now instead of in season...
When dropping players, be sure to clarify whether its a waiver or a buyout.
If you call a prospect up, be sure to clarify whether you are calling him up to your Minors roster(which is still on your ML ESPN roster, but still has eligibility to be sent back down) or if you are calling them up to you 25 man ML ESPN roster (which will cause the prospect to lose his prospect roster eligibility).
All prospects have 3 options per season. When called up, an option is used. If called up the total of 3 times, they may not be sent back down til the offseason, if they still have prospect eligibility (<130 ABs or 50 IPs)

1 other thing that i realized this week when tim anderson signed a big contract...
We havent made a deadline or set any rules for players being resign during the season or in the offseason. If anyone has ideas or thoughts let me know... But my thought is i dont want a guy to resign in season especially and screw someone by oytting them over the cap, because that is simply not a fantasy owners fault. Granted, if it's an FAB player, it has no effect. But, if its in the offseason (which technically means prior to the FA draft, this season prior to FA starting.), the team will take on the contract in full. But if a player signs from the fa draft forward, the team will take on the new contract from the following season forward.

Ok final thing
Clarifying the drafts.
Rookie draft is essentially the 1st year player draft. Minors draft is essentially a draft of prospects who have had less than 130 ABs or 50 IPs in the ML FA draft is a draft of all FA before Free Agency, if yoi take a player in this draft, you take on his real life contract.
ANY PLAYER on frees during the season can be picked up. Whether he is a prospect or a veteran. But you cannot add any player off FREE AGENCY to your prospect roster.

I would like to suggest that if a player signs a deal in season and a manager would like to accept it at that time he be allowed to declare that .... So if u want a to wait u can , however if u choose to take on the contract u can also , and I would also suggest that if u take on the contract it would kick in to begin in the following season , not in the current season , meaning u would maintain the current contract in the current year and assume the new contract to start the following year

i agree with diamondbacks here. you should be able to keep him at his contract for the remainder of the season. if the contract puts you over on salary you should be able to wait until the offseason to make the necisary drops to retain the player.

I agree with the above thoughts. You should be able to take on their new salary effective after the season ends. What happens if a guy gets a new contract and you decide you don't want to keep the player at that? Is your only option to buy them out or waive them? For instance, if Evan Longoria signed a new contract for $50 million a year starting today, would my only option be to buy him out after the season ends when his $50 million contract becomes effective for my team?

I dont mind letting contracts go into effect the following year... But technically, yes to what toronto said. If a guy signs a new contract you are hit with that. So making it to where the new contract wont go into effect til the following year somewhat changes that, allowing you to buy them out or waive them prior to the new contract. You dont get to choose to just release them because thwy signed a new deal... That wouldnt make sense IMO

I agree with that. I don't think it would make sense to just release them either. If you get the benefit of keeping a guy for longer when he resigns before his contract runs out, you should also have the risk that you get stuck with a guy you don't want because he signs a new contract before his expires too. Just wanted to clarify.

Or once there new contract kicks in, player can not be traded, only dropped at end of season to make the Free Agent draft much better ....

If we allow them to wait til the following season to have a new contract kick in, the only way out would be to allow them to drop the player on the current contract which i have no issue with. Essentially causing the free agent draft to be better... So i would disagree witb what beau said and it would result in what LA said.
