Free Agents:
ALL players won VIA Free Agency during the season OR in the offseason (except for in the FA Draft) are only under contract for that current season (offseason FA) OR the remainder of the current season (in season FA). When the season concludes, any team with any FAB players will be given the opportunity to keep any FAB player rostered for the remainder of their ACTUAL CONTRACT.
When bidding on players, as the subject of the thread, post their name. In the thread message, post their name, team, position, and your opening bid.
EX:
Subject: Albert Pujols (STL-1B)
Message:
Albert Pujols (STL-1B)
Opening Bid - $.5 million
1. You may add and drop players freely during the regular season with the following stipulations:
2. Players may be added via the Free Agent Bidding system.
3. When DROPPING players, there are a few different routes.
A. You will pay the full salary of player in the current season- "Buyout"
B. You will have to pay HALF of the dropped player's salary this season and HALF the following season. "Waive"
C. Dropped players may also be claimed via waivers, if said player is waived. The owner will assume the FAB salary or FULL contract if a player is won on waivers.
- Waivers will be updated on Monday every week, based on Standings Inverted.
- When dropped, a player will be placed on waivers for 24 hours.
- If the player is claimed, you no longer have to take a cap hit for dropping him.
- The person claiming this player will take on whatever contract he had when dropped.
- If nobody claims this player within the 24 hour period, you will still take the normal cap hit.
EX 1:
New York Mets places Johan Santana SP $21 million on waivers
Florida Marlins claims Johan Santana SP $21 million
---> Mets no longer have to take cap hit
EX 2:
Florida Marlins place Josh Beckett SP $12 million on waivers
Nobody claims Beckett
---> Marlins is charged with a $6 million cap hit for this year, and $6 million for next year.
5. Another option is to buyout the players contract for the remainder of the year.
- Buyouts will be the full salary for that year charged for the current season.
- No cap hit will be on the following season as with normal drops.
- The player will instantly surpass waivers.
EX:
Yunel Escobar $.4 million DROP
All cap hit on this year. CAP HIT OF $.4 milion
6. Remember the process bidding is: In Season- If you put a bid on a player teams have 24 hours to place a bid on that player.
Pre-Season FAB- anyone can bid during the first 24 hours after an original Bid. But after 24 hours, the player enters Final Bidding and only the teams that bid during the first 24 hours are allowed to bid.
7. Any bid MUST be .1 or higher. Any bid of less than .1 will be considered an invalid, null and void bid.
8. A player cannot be DRAFTED or BID on if they do not have a contract with a ML team or one of the ML affiliates.
9.. NON TENDER PLAYERS - Teams non tender some players in the offseason. These players are then FA's in our league as well. Sometimes it is a really good thing in the long run but sometimes you may lose on a good talent. You can Franchise Tag them or obviously release them into FA.
