Alright so theres a few things that have been rolling through my mind that need opinions, comments, and discussion. Normally id make a list, but its late and I don't have all that right now lmfao. EDIT:: Im moving to D. and realizing im making a list anyways. Cool cool cool cool cool cool cool.
If anyone has any rule change suggestions, post em here. I can make a separate thread if necessary and it can be voted on also, if necessary.
A. So my whole reason for even making this thread is to change some prospect stuff. Currently, if you call up a player to your minors bench, they cost the minimum (0.6 m). Also, if you send them down, they still cost the minimum. So, in theory, a team that calls up... 10 different players to their minors bench over the course of a season, will build up a total of 6 million. I want to change this. If a team sends a player back to the minors, that players salary is erased until promoted again. Meaning, any team can only build up a total of $2.4 Million via prospects that are called up to the minors bench.
B. Something i noticed recently and wasn't sure how to handle it. So this past offseason, we made it so that every prospect has a total of 5 options over the lifetime of their stay on any a prospect roster. But when we reach the end of the season, if you have players on your minors bench, I'm not sure how we handle that. If we just auto send those guys back down, you have to spend another option calling them back up. My thought is, they just stay there. Unless they crossed the 14 man threshold and have to be called up to the ML roster, you just keep them on your minors bench and its your decision whether they get sent back down or just stay there.
C. Currently every team has 2 injury drops, usable til the Trade deadline. I think this should be reduced to 1. We already have plenty of "Bail out" types of clauses in place to allow teams to get out of sticky situations, the past couple of years, it felt like 2 injury drops is excessive.
D. One loophole that surprisingly isn't exploited as often as id truly expect is the ability to buyout players all the way up until the final day of the season. Theoretically, on the final day of the fantasy season, you can buyout any contract and not be affected financially at any point past that. I think that needs a change. I think there should be deadline for Buyouts. I honestly don't expect everyone/anyone to be on board with this one, but it just feels like something that needs to be addressed. My honest thought is that we set a deadline for buyouts. The trade deadline seems like a good spot but I think that's going to be seen as drastic. So, I propose we make the deadline 3 weeks before the season ends.
E. This league has always done our Rookie draft mid-season just like real life. But the past few years, since they've moved the real life FYPD back a bit to the all-star break, its made it tough to have the draft prior to the trade deadline, considering we have to push the trade deadline back further than desired. At this point, we have a few options. We can either move the rookie draft to the offseason (which i REALLY dont want to do) or we can just bite the bullet and put the trade deadline before the rookie draft. That doesnt mean you cant agree to side deals including rookie picks and put those trades through in the offseason. Regardless, I plan on this league staying at 14 teams, and the schedule the way it is now, for the duration of the league. I dont want any of that to change and i have no plan for it to change so with all that said, we need to come to determine a way to make all this work out.
E SIDENOTE. In the even that we did make it an offseason draft, it would definitely become the january draft and there would definitely be rules surrounding ALL players involved in the draft.
Thats all ive got for now. Anything else thought of in the future can/will/might be added. EVERYONE feel free to respond to all. And anything that needed to be brought to a vote, will be. Likely, all will be brought to a vote tbh.
THanks Guys.
