Let me start by saying this is just an idea and I'm not sure how it'd work so no hard feelings if you say no way. Since we treat this league just like real baseball with free agency, rookie drafts, etc., why don't we incorporate the qualifying offer into it. If you have a player that gets offered a qualifying offer in real life and they decline it, you get some kind of supplemental rookie draft selection just like the MLB team would. If they accept it, you have the option of keeping them on that qualifying offer salary as well. Thoughts?

well , i see where ur going here , but even if they decline the qualifying offer in real life , i can still keep them in this league regardless , in real life they get compensation for losing the player , we shouldnt get compensation under your idea unless we are losing that player ??

I perosnally HATE the qualifying offer..... But I think this is a decent idea.. I like the thought that if they accept, you have the option of keeping them for that $ total. This could possibly go to a vote.

whats up. Just was wondering before I make any trades. Is this league going to a CAT league next year and also How are we gonna Handle players who take on contract extensions, Are we automatically gonna take on the extension or do we have the choice to take it on?

We havrnt had a vote yet on whether it goes to CATs or not.... We can have the vote sooner than later though. Ill put up a poll. Probably smart to put up that vote now rather than in the offseason.
As far as contract extensions, the extensions dont get applied til the next season. So basically when we get to next offseason, offseason drops use the prior year salary. If you want to keep a player, you would retain them at the new contract. This doesnt apply to FA players... As they would go FA unless you Franchise them.
